Momy, Will You Sleep with Us?

Mommy will you sleep with us?

Every night before the boys go to sleep I hear a 2 voice choir, my 2 boys are staring at me with their big eyes asking me to stay with them and cuddle until they fall asleep.

We are well aware of the proper social rules: Don’t spoil the children, don’t let them get used to this, let them learn how to fall asleep independently.

Yet on the other hand, my body misses them. My soul misses them.

They are getting bigger every day. Their afternoons are filled with friends, homework, after school activities.

And now we have a whole quarter of an hour just for our self, 15 minutes before they gently fall into a deep night sleep.

15 minutes of sweetness, of cuddles, of laughter into the pillow. 15 minutes of whispering into my ear: Mommy, I love you.

15 golden minutes that are worth being born for.

My 2 monkeys are wrapping me up with hugs and kisses and I choose to melt into them.

If only for these 15 minutes I know my life is as good as it can get.

Good night my little cubs, I love you forever and more.
